Bear keeps

Our protagonist does not bear living in a dark forest, not hibernating too long to wake up later in the midst of a factory, and never encountered a beautiful but ill-educated girl blonde curls. This bear lives in a building, for more detail on the plumbing of a building. Very smugly walks by the water pipes, heating and ventilation ducts.

oso2

sometimes enjoys playing with people unaware of its existence: it blows through a pipe to divert the output of smoke from the kitchen of a woman, pulls out his hairy leg by a pipe and a girl scares willing to take a swim or simply dropped down the drain by a thunderous noise that wakes up the vocation of complaints by tenants. But when the nights warm up to the roof and plunges into the star-studded tank from where it enjoys the dance of the moon, is filled with a mischievous joy that must be expressed in secret nightly visits to those big and clumsy beings who are seen as lonely.
Then, while washing the face to wake up the next day, the bear uses to caress the cheeks and lick your nose and removed "vaguely sure have done well."

Emilio Urberuaga, the illustrator of this story by Cortazar, who is also an affectionate tribute to the Argentine writer, has managed to translate his drawings all poetic tenderness and melancholy of the text. An album that comes out of the ordinary because it is structured as a frame that features a typical outcome of a short story, is simply the story of the experiences and feelings of a bear piping as an angel of Wim Wenders is always aware of the lives of others who feel theirs.

Bear Little werewolf

El pequeño hombre lobo, carátula001

A curses-weather friendship

Our hero is a short and skinny boy named Owl, a strange name when you consider you afraid of the dark. Well, when returning from the film along with his inseparable friend, Lina, took a shortcut that took them through a dark lane passing under a bridge. All good, until shortly before the end of the tunnel see the outline of a huge dog with yellow eyes that seemed meant to instill fear. "Lina Do not worry, it's just a dog," said Owl displaying a courage that will always cost effort to float. Did not last long because immediately felt it froze the heart to see the wolf pounced like lightning, he injured his hand and disappeared into the shadows of nearby forest.

was a huge shock happily just left a small scratch on the hand, nothing of importance. Or so he thought Owl, coming home because he had to hide from her parents and brother in the bathroom, did not want to frighten them with those strange changes she was experiencing. The hand injury is populated with a soft fur, his voice was deep and serious and could smell and hear very clearly from where he was the bustle of her family on the other side of the house. Was very clear that it was becoming a wolf child, your life, it was quite complicated, ran down the pipe. Lina know what to do, only she could trust now had to meet her in the attic of the building they shared.

El pequeño hombre lobo002

And so begins the adventure of poor Owl together with Lina go in search of a remedy to avert the lupine curse. Will not be easy because the odious pursue science teacher, obsessed with werewolves and hobby is to disturb the students. But among all their tragedy Owl can take advantage of their status when faced with typical class bullies who would make clear what behavior should be with him in the future.

El pequeño hombre lobo003

With the mastery to which he usually does, Cornelia Funke ("Inkheart", "Dragon Rider" ), gives us this little novel (nearly 100 pages) which achieves a literary tension from beginning to end. To corroborate the above: I gave the book to my nine year old daughter who took him to school and during breaks, (and hopefully not during math class), I finished reading. And she never had any fault repairs or dispose of books that do not caught. Highly recommended.

What happens to my hair? Shining a light

leonelportada

That's what Leonel asked to look in the mirror in the morning. Her hair is lush and tangled revolt. This creates a big problem, because today will go to a party and must be presentable. Then, our practical friend, decides to go to the hairdresser to fix it.
As the shaggy lion does not know under what done, your hairdresser, giraffe, and tested offers several options: If you are a party in the field there is nothing better than cutting with birds nest ... including, if the party is on the beach surf style never fails , if it goes to the bottom of the sea octopus must spruce up ...

leonel2

the end and after all products on display, Leonel is decided by a hair light with which surprised everyone. This fun album
Satoshi Kitamura, has in its empty spaces design, stamping, where their children can put their faces to be reflected with different hairstyles experienced. Thus, reading becomes a kind of visual play, where they are active in the story read.
The text is minimal, the illustrations are very colorful and great expressiveness. It is a book that is designed and developed for the little ones but that just entertains readers of all ages.

How Long Does Plan B Stay In Your Sistem

Encender una luz, carátula010

The bright dream job with a page

dark as night closed as he begins this album is illustrated. A dark spot with a single sentence: "Sometimes you only need to light a candle," and then, turning the page, find a beautiful dragon gently lights a candle with your fire breath. And it takes on a light for certain things to happen ... a light in our hearts.

Encender_una_luz011

The album displays all the pages then, lit the light of the candle, to show a dreamlike shadow foreshadow our deepest desires. A child riding on his dog casts the shadow of that beautiful child riding on a horse ready to fight for his beloved. Two other small are not known but are in a lonely street and their shadows show them playing with a ball. We all crave a playmate, right? An elderly couple crossing the road and whose shadows touched her hand as conjuring their loneliness. A child who is scolded by his mother in the middle uncontrolled road cast shadows where the small rises in the sky leaving, punished and a mother desperate well planted on the ground.

Encender_una_luz012

And so every one of our shadows show us not only our desires but also our human needs: to return to better times, the need for revenge, the pleasure of fun scaring the other and the ability to kill the boredom. An album that is read almost entirely from the illustrations, which not only have a great narrative power but are also poetic and funny.
