A curses-weather friendship
Our hero is a short and skinny boy named Owl, a strange name when you consider you afraid of the dark. Well, when returning from the film along with his inseparable friend, Lina, took a shortcut that took them through a dark lane passing under a bridge. All good, until shortly before the end of the tunnel see the outline of a huge dog with yellow eyes that seemed meant to instill fear. "Lina Do not worry, it's just a dog," said Owl displaying a courage that will always cost effort to float. Did not last long because immediately felt it froze the heart to see the wolf pounced like lightning, he injured his hand and disappeared into the shadows of nearby forest.
was a huge shock happily just left a small scratch on the hand, nothing of importance. Or so he thought Owl, coming home because he had to hide from her parents and brother in the bathroom, did not want to frighten them with those strange changes she was experiencing. The hand injury is populated with a soft fur, his voice was deep and serious and could smell and hear very clearly from where he was the bustle of her family on the other side of the house. Was very clear that it was becoming a wolf child, your life, it was quite complicated, ran down the pipe. Lina know what to do, only she could trust now had to meet her in the attic of the building they shared.
And so begins the adventure of poor Owl together with Lina go in search of a remedy to avert the lupine curse. Will not be easy because the odious pursue science teacher, obsessed with werewolves and hobby is to disturb the students. But among all their tragedy Owl can take advantage of their status when faced with typical class bullies who would make clear what behavior should be with him in the future.
With the mastery to which he usually does, Cornelia Funke ("Inkheart", "Dragon Rider" ), gives us this little novel (nearly 100 pages) which achieves a literary tension from beginning to end. To corroborate the above: I gave the book to my nine year old daughter who took him to school and during breaks, (and hopefully not during math class), I finished reading. And she never had any fault repairs or dispose of books that do not caught. Highly recommended.
